We are affiliated with Sweet Adelines International, a womens vocal organisation of over 30,000 members worldwide. This organisation is committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.
The Southern Cross Region has 30 choruses throughout Australia.

AURORA AUSTRALIS ICEBREAKER MEETS SONGSTERS
Breaking the Ice!
Aurora Australis Chorus met their namesake, the RSV Aurora Australis at
Princess
Wharf,
Hobart,
Tasmania,
Australia during convention in May.
The RSV Aurora Australis is
Australia’s Antarctic flagship, an icebreaker which can cut ice up to 1.6 metres thick. The ship travels to
Antarctica during the Antarctic summer which is roughly from October through to April. It resupplies all the Antarctic research stations! The ship also takes expeditioners and scientists down to
Antarctica for the summer. It is currently undergoing maintenance in
Hobart, ready for the next trip to
Antarctica in October 2008.
Members of our
Aurora were invited to tour the ship and in return we treated the captain to a performance on the helicopter deck

The chorus sings a cappella, predominantly barbershop arrangements, but we are interested in all kinds of music.
Our repertoire contains songs from many eras - pop songs, ballads, barbershop, jazz, Christmas
carols, Aussie songs and gospel.
